School Classes changed again!

Crikey, we’ve had to be School parents again..

Emily’s school has changed around the Classes due to the re-allocation of teachers. this happens after the first week when they have settled on Class sizes for the state schools.

However, Em went from a 2/3 class to a 1/2 class. Obviously this had us concerned, more for the social factor rather than the academic factors. Em is 7 and most year one students a 5 going on 6…

Off to the Principal’s office ( whoa, flashbacks…) to discuss with him and the teachers to find out the reasoning behind this and also to sort out some of our concerns.

Fortunately, we’ve managed to sort our way through some of the issues and get some answers as well as get some assurances from the teachers on some of the concerns we had. apparently the more independant and advanced students have been moved and that it can benefit by drawing the bunch of students together as well as teach them some responsibilty as they are assiting the Grade 1 classes with sight words and sigth reading..

We’ll see how it goes…
